Industrial past, coexistence Future

“Occasionally, the river floods these places. 'Floods' is the word they use, but in fact it is not flooding: it is remembering. Remembering where it used to be. All water has a perfect memory and is forever trying to get back to where it was.”

- Toni Morrison, Public Lecture at New York Public Library 1986

The Quarry Query Studio worked in partnership with the Pima County Regional Flood Control District and CalPortland to re-envision a former industrial aggregate site into a public asset and wildlife habitat.
